MANILA – In an interview with ABS-CBN’s “Tonight With Boy Abunda,” celebrity couple Toni Gonzaga and Paul Soriano revealed that they have been expecting a baby boy.

“We’re having a boy… It’s going to be a mini Paul,” Soriano told host Boy Abunda, adding that his wife wanted their first baby to be a boy. “It’s her wish. I just wanted girl or boy, healthy, strong.”

“I want a boy kasi siyempre wala akong kapatid na lalaki… We are thankful to God for this blessing,” Gonzaga said in an earlier interview.

As for the name of their little bundle of joy, the couple has yet to choose one.

“We’re working on it. We’re debating now on names – well of course, one is ‘Paul.’ We’re going for that choice,” the director of upcoming film Dukot shared.

Gonzaga has been due to give birth in late September or first week of October. She first confirmed her pregnancy back in April.

“It’s getting more and more exciting ‘cause I’m closing in with my second trimester… Nagbibilang na lang ako ng buwan (I’m counting months),” the singer-actress said.

In preparation for the coming of her baby, Gonzaga has been reading books on pregnancy.

“I’d like my baby to grow up in the same way that my parents brought me up. I think I will be the disciplinarian. Lahat ng inalagaan ko, from my sister Alex to some of my cousins, sobrang madisiplina ako sa kanila (All those I took care of, from my sister Alex to some of my cousins, I discipline them well),” she explained.
