After months of anticipation, Encantadia fans were finally given a preview of the grand re-telling of one of the Kapuso Network’s most iconic fantasy series, as its official trailer was launched last June 11.

The cast of the much-awaited requel of the Kapuso telefantasya was presented at the Toy Conference 2016 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City, Philippines. The launch of the Encantadia cast served as one of the highlights of the three-day conference, where the trailer was shown for the first time.

Three days after it was uploaded on YouTube, the official teaser trailer of Encantadia has already garnered more than 129,000 views and has elicited positive comments from netizens.

The audience praised the show’s special effects, with some even describing it as the Philippines’ own version of HBO’s Emmy award-winning series, Game of Thrones.

Home-grown Kapuso stars, Kylie Padilla, Gabbi Garcia, Sanya Lopez and Glaiza de Castro were chosen to portray the roles of the four Sang’gres – Amihan, Alena, Danaya and Pirena – or guardians of the elemental gems.

Playing very special roles are Primetime King and Queen Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera-Dantes as Raquim and Ynang Reyna Minea.

Joining the stellar cast are John Arcilla, Rocco Nacino, Ruru Madrid, Sunshine Dizon, Christian Bautista, Rochelle Pangilinan, Vaness del Moral, Pancho Magno, Buboy Villar, Carlo Gonzalez, Kate Valdez, Mikee Quintos, Starstruck finalist  James Teng, introducing Starstruck winners  Klea Pineda and Migo Adecer, and Solenn Heussaff.

Encantadia first aired on GMA Network in 2005 and remains one of the Network’s most successful and grandest TV offerings.

Encantadia 2016, helmed by Director Mark Reyes, will soon air on GMA’s flagship international channel, GMA Pinoy TV.
