MANILA – The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Tuesday advised the commuters and motorists to take alternative routes and refrain from passing through Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City.
In its Facebook account, MMDA said that some major roads in the area will be closed due to the medical mission being conducted by the Iglesia ni Cristo (INC).
In an interview, MMDA Traffic Discipline Office Head, Atty Crisanto Saruca advised the motorist to take the following alternate routes:
Vehicles going to Fairview take right to Sandiganbayan then exit to Litex.
For Public Utility Vehicles (PUBs), two counterflow lanes will be open for motorists along Commonwealth Avenue west bound where their passengers can alight along the stretch of Commonwealth – Sandiganbayan headed towards Litex.
Saruca also said that they already deployed 140 traffic enforcers until Tuesday midnight to assist motorists.
“Hindi kami umaalis at aantayin namin matapos yung event hanggang mamayang hating gabi at andun pa din yung mga deployment natin.
Yung deneploy namin since kagabi hanggang mamaya hindi nagbabago yun nagshishifting lang kami ng mga tao pero yung mga number tsaka yung mga motor vehicles namin andun pa din,” he told reporters.
He added that so far, no untoward incident was reported along the area.
