MANILA—PDP-LABAN standard bearer Rodrigo Duterte and running mate, Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano, called for the swift resolution of the apparent murder of Teng Santoramona Gambao, widow of Dominic “Papadom” Gamboa,

“These are the kinds of murders that should make us really angry,” Duterte said.

Reports had it that Gamboa was a victim of holdup inside a taxicab on her way home.

“We should all be concerned and demand our right to a safe society,” he explained aside from calling for an immediate investigation by Makati authorities.

Cayetano, on the other hand, said the streets of Metro Manila should be safe for anyone – especially children, women and the elderly.

“If there is a pattern in this murder then the Makati City government, the Department of Interior and Local Government and the Land Transportation and Franchising Regulatory Board should quickly coordinate to investigate,” the PDP-LABAN bet stressed.

Echoing his proclamation speech in Tondo last week, he warned that if elected president he would do what he did in Davao to drive away criminal elements even if it means risking his own life.

It will also be recalled that Duterte pioneered the establishment of inter-agency bodies to coordinate investigations and enforce security, similar to Task Force Davao City where he as City Mayor worked with police and military to fight crime and terrorism.
