Hydro One working to restore power to about 3,000 customers
TORONTO—The number of Hydro One customers without power has doubled overnight, now sitting at just over 3,000.
The affected area stretches from Sudbury, Ont., in the north, to Gatineau, Que.
, in the east, to St. Catharines, Ont., in the south are still without power.
The biggest concentration of customers waiting to be reconnected is in the Haliburton area, which lost power overnight because of broken equipment in Minden, Ont.
Others remain without power after a windstorm ripped through the province on Christmas Eve.
At its peak, this week’s outages affected nearly 100,000 customers.
Hydro One says it has thrown all available resources into getting the lights back on.
