Barely two weeks before the coronation night, Miss Universe Philippines 2015 delegate Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach has already been making a big impression as she participated in the pre-show events and showed all the right angles in the photo shoots.

“I have a very good feeling about this year, actually. So we’ll see what happens… I’ve been doing my homework. I’m pretty confident that I’m getting there as I’m getting closer and closer to the competition. I can feel it already,” she said in earlier interviews.

Wurtzbach, along with the other 78 candidates, has been touring, filming, and rehearsing for the nearing pageant night to be held on December 20 (December 21, Philippine time) in Las Vegas, USA.

“All the three years that I’ve tried, people are laughing at me and saying na trying hard daw ako (that I’m trying too hard). So my answer is yeah… I tried very hard because this is what I want,” she further said.

Posing for the camera at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino, the Filipina beauty queen dazzled in the evening gown, swimwear, and glamour photography, among others. Her photos were captured by renowned photographers Matt Petit, Darren Decker and Fadil Berisha.

“I absolutely love, love, love my official glamshot photo,” she said in her Instagram account.

“Can’t believe it’s been over a week already since I arrived! Everything’s been happening so fast and everyday is packed with activities,” she said in another post.

The other activities leading to the live show are the talent show in December 13, the preview and contestant interviews on December 14, and the preliminary and national consume shows on December 16.

Among the favorites

With her journey as a beauty queen starting way back in 2013, Wurtzbach hoped to become the third Filipina to be crowned as Miss Universe, following Margarita Moran in 1973 and Gloria Diaz in 1969.

The 26-year-old beauty queen has also been named among pageant enthusiasts’ favorites and has been projected to be among the Top 10, along with Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez, Miss India Urvashi Rautela, Miss Mexico Wendy Esparza and Miss USA Olivia Jordan.

Adding more to the pressure, the Philippines’ Angelia Ong was crowned as the Miss Earth 2015 and Ann Colis was named as Miss Globe 2015.
