Nicki Minaj testifies at Meek Mill’s parole hearing, says she’ll help boyfriend follow rules
PHILADELPHIA – Nicki Minaj says she’ll keep boyfriend Meek Mill on the straight and narrow.
She testified Thursday in Philadelphia during Mill’s latest parole violation hearing.
Prosecutors say the 28-year-old rapper violated parole in a 2009 drug and gun case by repeatedly changing his court-approved travel schedule.
Minaj, who recently picked up two American Music Awards, says she will help Mill stay organized and work with him to fulfil his community service requirement.
But Common Pleas Judge Genece Brinkley is threatening to send Mill back to jail.
She says Mill, whose real name is Robert Williams, also submitted a suspicious urine sample.
Mill is due back before Brinkley on Dec. 17.
Defence lawyer Frank DeSimone says the music industry is chaotic and Mill is not trying to disrespect the judge. He also says the couple is serious about getting married.
