Maine’s Sugarloaf to open for skiing this weekend ahead of Thanksgiving holiday
CARRABASSETT VALLEY, Maine—Sugarloaf is ready to open for skiing.
Spokeswoman Noelle Tuttle says the resort will open Saturday with two runs: Candy Side, a green easy trail, and Kings Landing, a blue for intermediate skiers.
She says the plan is to operate through the weekend, then dial back to mornings on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Then the resort hopes to open full-time for the season starting on Thanksgiving.
Most Maine resorts will be opening later next month. The early bird this year was Sunday River, which opened on Oct. 19.
