MANILA – Former Ilocos Sur Governor Luis “Chavit” Singson will be hosting GMA News TV’s newest travel-public service show “Happy Life” set to air on November.

Singson will also be shelling out money from his own pocket as he helps and encourages families and institutions to be featured in his show.

Lahat nga ng kinita ko ay gusto kong ipamigay eh. Dahil nga sabi ko, ‘Pag namatay ako, hindi ko na madadala eh’ (I want to give away all that I earned. Because I said, ‘When I die, I won’t be able to bring anything’),” he told reporters.

In “Happy Life,” deserving beneficiaries will be given the opportunity to travel for a few days while gifts await them at the end of their journey. The show also aims to give a fresh start to hardworking individuals and organizations.

“[Halimbawa], pinakamasipag na farmer na ipinag-aralyung anak ng masigasigTapos iimbitahan ko sa Maynila, bibihisan, patitirahin sa hotel, pakakainin ng masaraplahat ng buhay na nararanasan ng mayaman,” Singson said.

(For example, the most persevering farmer who brought his child to school… I will invite him over to Manila, will dress him up, will accommodate him in a hotel, will let him eat delicious food – everything that the rich experiences.)

“[All for] three to four days. Pagbalik niya, bago na ‘yung bahay niya. Bibigyan ko ng bagong bahay (When he returns, he will have a new home. I will give him a new life),” he added.

Aside from his upcoming show, Singson has also been rumored to be buying a share at GMA Network. A Philippine Star source disclosed that contracts have already being prepared. But in an entertainment press conference he recently held, the former Governor has not hinted anything about the alleged deal.
