Kris Aquino backs out from MMFF entry?

MANILA – After actress-host Kris Aquino shared a lengthy post in her Instagram account yesterday pertaining to a movie, netizens were quick to ask if she was backing out from her Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry this year.

Kris shared a photo with the text, ‘Dear tummy, sorry for all the butterflies. Dear pillow, sorry for all the tears. Dear heart, sorry for all the damage. Dear brain, you were right.’

She included a caption to the photo, saying “This is about a film and just one request on my end after endless compromising to honor my commitment…”

Although the storyline was too personal for Kris, she still accepted the project. But with her only request not granted, she decided to back out.

“I said no… And it just couldn’t fall into place… In tackling this movie, I was taking the leap of faith of reopening already healed wounds – until I realized tonight, what for?,” she said.

The Queen of All Media asserted that she has been professional in her television shows, films and other projects. She just wanted to do what she thought was best for her, this time.

“I know enough to prioritize taking care of me… That’s why I choose to walk away and put myself first, not because I want to be difficult, but simply because I’ve earned the privilege to say no with courage and dignity,” she continued.

In Kris’ succeeding post, she shared another photo with the text ‘I’m a jerk… I’m sorry.’ In the post’s caption, she apologized for dropping out of a project.

“I’m sorry for the stress I put you through, the many wasted hours working on the project, and all the effort you exerted… I was wrong to commit to something that in all honesty, I am emotionally, physically and mentally not ready for,” she said.

Even if the actress-host did not specify the project she was sorry for, netizens were close to conclude that she was indeed backing out from the MMFF entry where she was supposed to be paired with former flame Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista.
