DNA testing on Poe’s possible relatives up
MANILA — In order to identify who are the biological parents of Senator Grace Poe, there is now an ongoing “DNA testing” on the possible relatives of the real parents of the senator.
This was manifested by Atty. Alex Poblador, counsel of Poe, before the end of the oral arguments at the Senate Electoral Tribunal (SET) on Monday on the quo warranto case filed by Rizalito David against the senator.
According to Poblador, they will present the result of the DNA testing once it is released.
In reply, Senior Associate Justice Antonio T. Carpio, SET Chair, explained that if there will be a “match” in the DNA testing, it can be considered as “conclusive presumption” under the Rules of Court.
When asked by the media after the oral arguments about how many underwent the DNA testing, Poblador just kept mum.
However, he said, the result of the DNA testing may be released within two weeks or even earlier.
Poblador added that Poe herself will disclose the details of such a result.
The oral arguments ended at 2:30 p.
m. on Monday.
The SET ordered both parties to submit their respective memorandum within 15 days from Monday.
