Aquino met with Poe for the third time
MANILA — President Aquino met with Senator Grace Poe again on Monday afternoon, following the six-hour dinner held at Malacanang with other senators.
The meeting, which was the third meeting that the senator had with the president lasted for five hours.
Poe said that she sensed the “very difficult position” that the President was going through.
“I understand and sympathize with his predicament and situation,” Poe said in a text message to the Philippine Daily Inquirer.
According to Poe, the meeting ended with the two of them agreeing to continue working together.
“In the end, we both agreed to continue, in whatever capacity, striving and working for our countrymen and for the betterment of our children’s future,” she said.
“We both agreed that we both have the best interest of our country in mind in whatever decisions we will make in the coming days,” she said.
“I consider him a true and sincere friend and he has my utmost respect,” she added.
Poe also added that the meeting may be the last meeting she will have with the president before the State of the Nation Address on July 27.
Aquino earlier said that he will be announcing the administration’s presidential candidate after his SONA.
