MANILA — Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte admitted that he used to be gay, in an interview with comedian Vice Ganda in the late-night talk show “Gandang Gabi Vice.”

“Bakla ako noon, na-reform lang. (I used to be gay but I was reformed).

But asked what he will do if his son turned out to be gay, Duterte said:

“It’s more of the human dignity than anything else. All human beings are created by God.

“Every one deserves to be happy,” Duterte said when asked about his views on same-sex marriage.

Duterte grooved along dance crazes during the tape episode and shared his thoughts on politics and current issues.

He, again, reiterated that he will not run for President in the upcoming elections.

“I am not interested in the presidency. It doesn’t appeal to me,” Duterte said when asked if he is interested to run for president.

Asked who he should vote among Interior Secretary Mar Roxas, Sen. Grace Poe and Vice President Jejomar Binay, Duterte said:

“Kaibigan ko silang lahat. (They’re all my friends. I won’t say ‘good,’ if they are not good.

“I’d rather not state it publicly, baka sumama loob nila saken (they might feel bad and take it against me),” he added.
