Filipino triathletes win silver, bronze in Taipei Asian Triathlon

Filipino triathletes took home silver and bronze medals from the 2015 Taipei Asian Triathlon Championships held in Taiwan.

Kim Mangrobang and Kim Kilgroe in the elite women’s team garnered a time of 2 hours, 22 minutes, 25 seconds and 2 hours, 32 minutes, 16 seconds, respectively. Their combined time of 4 hours, 54 minutes and 41 seconds placed them in the ranking’s second spot, just behind Japan with 4 hours, 18 minutes and 22 seconds.

Nikko Huelgas and Jonard Saim in the elite men’s team, on the other hand, acquired a time of 2 hours, 6 minutes, 18 seconds and 2 hours, 10 minutes, 5 seconds, respectively. Their combined time of 4 hours, 16 minutes and 21 seconds secured them a third spot, following Japan with 4 hours and 41 seconds and Hong Kong with 4 hours, 8 minutes and 53 seconds.

The athletes covered a 1.5K swim, 40K bike and 10K run in the triathlon.
