Filipino-Canadian joins ‘The Voice Kids,’ impresses Coach Bamboo
MANILA – Filipino-Canadian Martina Luis tried her luck in “The Voice Kids,” travelling to the Philippines from Toronto, Canada to audition in the singing competition’s second season.
Martina sang Alicia Keys’ “Girl on Fire” and managed to turn coach Bamboo Mañalac’s chair.
“The tone, the power, the presence ng vocals mo were there, telling me na marami akong puwedeng ibato sa iyo na kanta and I think you can do it. We have to clean few things, but with me as your coach, oh the places we shall go,” Bamboo said, feeling Martina’s ‘connection’ to the song.

Meanwhile, coach Leah Salonga has five kids in her team while coach Sara Geronimo has eight members.
