MANILA — Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil’s first team-up in a movie earned P12 million on its first day, according to producer Star Cinema.

“Just the Way You Are,” a movie directed by Theodore Boborol is now in over 170 cinemas nationwide.

The movie was based on the hit novel, “The Bet” featuring a school hearthrob Drake (Gil) who struggles to make Sophia (Soberano), a transferee fall in love with him in order to win a bet.

The on-screen couple shared the kind of characters they are playing during an interview on “Aquino & Abunda Tonight.”

“Drake is a playboy, big shot from a famous school. But its not really who he is. It’s his defense mechanism because of his family problems. And for him, love is just a game,” Gil said.

“Sophia is the opposite of him. I’m (she is) a simple person who has no time for love and games. I (she) just want to go to the Philippines to study and work, because there’s something she wants to happen for her family,” Soberano shared.

“Basically, it’s about the story of two different people  but once they meet and get to know each other they will realize that they have the exact same problems so they’re not so different after all,” Gil added.

They also thanked their supporters in the same interview.
