Rak of Aegis bags 11 awards

MANILA — The hit musical comedy “Rak of Aegis” bagged 11 awards during the annual Philstage’s Gawad Buhay awarding ceremony on Thursday at the Cultural Center of the Philippines Tanghalang Aurelio Tolentino.

PETA’s musical won the Outstanding Original Musical and Outstanding Ensemble Performance for a Musical awards.

Its director, Maribel Legarda also won for her Outstanding Stage Direction and the play’s Liza Magtoto won the Original Libretto award.

Actors  who also won awards included Kim Molina and Pepe Herrera who were both recognized for their Outstanding Female Lead Performance in a Musical and Outstanding Male Featured Performance in a Musical, respectively.

The play’s choreographer Gio Gahol and the costume designer, Carlo Pagunaling also brought home awards.

The musical features the story of a fictional urban community beset with floods.
