MANILA – TV 5 host Mariel Rodriguez confirmed reports that husband Robin Padilla was ‘certain’ with plan to leave the Philippines and settle in the United States.

Mariel clarified, however, that they were not in a hurry to do so.

“He’s certain pa rin. Siyempre sasama ako di ba? Pero alam ko hindi pa ngayon na ngayon kasi pinayagan niya pa akong gawin ‘to, e,” she said in an interview, referring to her upcoming game show “Happy Truck ng Bayan.”

(He’s certain pa rin. Of course, I’ll go with him. But from what I know, it’s not yet now as he still allowed me to do this [project].)

She also said that she had no objection with her husband’s decision.

“In our marriage, I’m the follower, he’s the boss. So kung anong sinabi niya do’n ako. Nang nagpakasal ako iniwan ko lahat, ngayon pa ba ako matatakot? Excited ako basta will ni God, it will happen,” she added.

(In our marriage, I’m the follower, he’s the boss. So whatever he says, I go with it. When I got married [to him], I left everything.  What’s to fear now? I’m excited as long as it’s God’s will, it will happen.)

Mariel and Robin will be going to the US next month, but only for a vacation.

“I’ll leave for vacation. I’ll leave June 15. Pero tatapusin ko muna ‘yong show.

I’ll be absent for a while,” she said.

(I’ll leave for vacation. I’ll leave [on] June 15. But I will finish this show. I’ll be absent for a while.)

Mariel is currently the host of “Happy Wife, Happy Life.”
