MANILA — Two grenades were thrown in front of the Navotas City Jail on Thursday by still unidentified suspect.

Navotas City Mayor John Ray Tiangco said that only one of the two grenades exploded.

“’Yung isang granada hindi sumabog, natanggal ‘yung pin kaya’t sinecure natin,” Tiangco said in a report by Erwin Aguilon of Radyo Inquirer.

(One of the grenades didn’t explode. The pin was already removed so we secured it right away.)

He added that authorities are now reviewing footages of closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras near the area.

According to the same report, a woman named Agnes Cruz was injured during the incident.

She was sleeping near the city jail and was immediately brought to the hospital.
