Revilla considers running in 2016
MANILA — Senator Ramon Revilla Jr. considers running in the 2016 elections adding that there is no law that hinders him to do so.
“Wala naman batas na nagbabawal tumakbo ang isang nakakulong,” Revilla said as quoted in a report for ABS-CBN.
(There’s no law that stops imprisoned persons from running.)
Revilla made the statement following the cancellation of his hearing on Thursday morning.
His petition for bail was denied by the court December last year and was then scheduled for a pre-trial conference.
The senator, meanwhile, admitted that the cases filed against him had negative impact on his image.
“Maraming nalason. (Much has been poisoned.)”
Revilla is, however, hopeful that recovery will come one day for him and his family.
Asked about what position he is considering for next year’s polls, the senator only said, “Secret.”
