Pinoy nurse in England charged with murder
MANILA — A British-Filipino nurse was found guilty of murdering two of his patients and poisoning 20 others in a hospital in northern England.
According to a Reuters report, Victorino Chua, 49, claimed to have “a devil” inside him.
He was sentenced guilty of contaminating healthcare products which were administered to patients of Stepping Hill Hospital in Stockport, Greater Manchster in London.
The incident killed two patients and left one-third of the total victims involved suffering from a serious brain injury.
“Hidden in plain sight and using unsuspecting colleagues to carry out his sinister plan, Victorino Chua deliberately poisoned and murdered those who were under his care and those who were at their most vulnerable and most in need of help,” said Det. Superintendent Simon Barraclough, as quoted in a Reuters report.
Chua was then sentenced guilty of 33 counts including murder, administering a poison, and causing grievous bodily harm.
