MANILA — The Department of Tourism (DOT) on Friday announced that the hashtag #itsmorefuninthephilippines has hit the one-million mark on mobile photo-sharing app, Instagram (IG).

“That’s (one million) and more beautiful photos tagged #itsmorefuninthephilippines and it was made possible by you and your eagerness to show the world why the Philippines truly deserves a visit!,” DOT said on its IG account, @tourismphl.

The department was referring to Instagram users who used the hashtag in their photos of travels around the country.

In celebration of its newest achievement and as an expression of gratitude, the DOT said that it would open its website, www.itsmorefuninthephilippines.com to users.
