MANILA — The Philippine National Police said that Sen. Bong Revilla “accidentally” saw Sen. Juan Ponce Enrile at the Camp Crame hospital during the latter’s birthday last Feb. 14.

PNP Headquarters Support Service (HSS) was asked to explain why Revilla was out of the PNP Custodial Center that day.

“The senator did not escape. He sought permission from the HSS and he was allowed to leave. The HSS has explained the issue,” according to PNP spokesman, Chief Supt. Generoso Cerbo Jr.

He added that Revilla complained of chest pains and was allowed to leave the hospital for a quick checkup.

Revilla, who is now detained for his alleged involvement in the P10-billion pork barrel scam, was questioned following the release of a photo showing him attending Enrile’s birthday celebration.

The said photo taken by someone who was also at Enrile’s 91st birthday celebration surfaced during a hearing at the Sandiganbayan on Monday.
