MANILA — The police on Tuesday reported that several armed men set ablaze the hut where Zulkifli bin Hir, the Malaysian bomb terrorist known as “Marwan,” was killed by police commandos during the Mamasapano encounter.

The hut in Barangay (village) Pidsandawan, Mamasapano, Maguindanao was set on fire at around 10 p.

m., according to Senior Inspector Reggie Abellera, Mamasapano police chief, on Wednesday.

“We have a team that will go to the site to check,” Abellera said during an interview with a local radio station in Cotabato City.

Meanwhile, Captain Jo-ann Petinglay, 6th Infantry Division spokesperson confirmed in a Philippine Daily Inquirer report that they have received the same reports  adding that they will still have to verify the truth about it.
