MANILA – Star of ABS-CBN’s successful series “Two Wives,” actress Erich Gonzales, disclosed that she received death threats when she started playing the role of Janine on the hit show.

During a press conference held on Wednesday for the show’s finale Gonzales said:

Siguro maraming na-Janine sa real life, maraming nakaka-relate.

(It reached the point that the viewers were so affected by the impact of Janine on their lives. Maybe many people can relate and were on the receiving end of people like Janine. It reached the point that I had to set my Instagram to private because I was receiving deathtgreats.

I was being cursed. It was no longer Janine that they were venting about it became Erich.)

Pero siyempre it’s my job na maging makatotohanan yung role ko,” she added.

(Although I understand that people get carried away by the story, they end up thinking it is real life. But I find it disturbing that there are threats and curses. Of course, they do not understand that as actors, we are playing a role, they probably cannot separate this. I hope they understand me, as myself, I do not like the script the lines that Janine says. But of course, it is my job to make the role believable.)
