MANILA — Interior and Local Government Secretary Manuel “Mar” Roxas II on Wednesday ordered a full-dress investigation into the reported meeting between detained Senators Bong Revilla and Juan Ponce Enrile on Feb. 14, 2015.
On instructions of the DILG Secretary, Philippine National Police (PNP) Officer-in-Charge Deputy Director General Leonardo A Espina has took to task Police Director Francisco Don C.
Montenegro, the Director for Investigation and Detective Management (DIDM), to lead the probe.
Espina said the investigation sought to validate the circumstances behind some published photos purportedly showing both detained Senators Revilla and Enrile together when they were supposed to be confined in separate detention facilities.
Under investigation are some custodial officials of the PNP Headquarters Support Service (HSS) under Police Chief Supt. Alberto C. Supapo.
Initial report from Supapo showed that Senator Revilla was brought to the PNP General Hospital at 4:28 p.m. on Feb. 14, 2015 to undergo urgent check-up. He was escorted by the Officer of the Day and one security escort.
At 4:30 p.m., reports indicate that Senator Revilla underwent monitoring of vital signs and physical check-up by the duty physician at the Emergency Ward. Subsequently, medication was administered to relieve pain, discomfort and dizziness.
Same report mentioned that at 4:52 p.m., Revilla and Enrile had a chance meeting along the hallway of the PNP General Hospital where both detainees reportedly exchanged pleasantries.
Revilla and security escorts went back and arrived at PNP Custodial Center at 4:55 p.m. of the same date.
