Cop axed after giving out gas slips to his son
MANILA — A policeman was removed from his post and was subject to investigation following the post his son made on Facebook showing that he was given two gas slips intended for use by the Philippine National Police (PNP).
“Gas supply in PH… Thanks Pa,” read the caption of a photo of the gas slips posted on Facebook.
Each gas slip in the photo entitles the bearer to 10 liters of fuel.
Meanwhile, PNP Internal Affairs Service chief Director Alexander Roldan yesterday said that they are withholding the name of the policeman involved pending the ongoing investigation.
He added that the policeman, who now holds the rank of a Senior Police Officer 4, was assigned as a supply officer of the IAS.
During the investigation, the policeman will be asked to explain how the gas slips went to the hands of the civillian, according to PNP spokesperson Chief Superintendent Generoso Cerbo Jr.
The IAS chief has ordered an investigation into the matter. He has talked to the policeman concerned,” Cerbo said.
