MANILA — The Palace needs a “concrete manifestation” that the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) will really perform its duties under the Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro (CAB).

Presidential Communications Operations Office Secretary Herminio Coloma Jr. said they need to know that the MILF is really for peace.

This is following the statement of MILF saying that they remain a revolutionary organization until the Bangsamoro peace process is completed.

Coloma said that there is a need for them to show concrete proof of their commitment to the peace process.

“Ang mahalaga para sa pamahalaan ay ang pagpapatupad ng mga probisyon ng Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro,” Coloma said in a statement sent to the media.

(What is important for the government is the implementation of the provisions of the Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro (CAB).)

He also added that after the encounter in the Mamasapano the government is now waiting for them to create concrete moves that will show how committed they are.

“Ang layunin ng kasalukuyang pagsisiyasat ay malaman ang kumpletong salaysay at buong katotohanan hinggil sa naganap sa Mamasapano, Maguindanao. Mainam na hintayin natin ang ang ilalabas na ulat hinggil sa resulta ng pagsisiyasat,” Coloma said.

(The aim of the current investigation is to know the complete statement and the real truth of the events that occurred during the encounter.)
