Gowns by Filipino designers featured during Golden Globes
MANILA – Some gowns created by Filipino designers made it to the red carpets during the Golden Globes.
Filipino designer Monique Lhuillier made the gown worn by Anna Kendrick of “Into the Woods”.
Meanwhile, Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) member and former Miss Universe Margeret Gardiner wore a white gown designed by Alan del Rosario.
Oliver Tolentino, who is based in Hollywood, created the pre-Globes red carpet dress of best actress winner Gina Rodriguez.
“This year, we really plan to dress up Hollywood stars. We want to feature Filipino designs,” said Francis Libiran who came all the way to Hollywood to see the ceremony.
HFPA member Janet Nepales wore a Michael Cinco creation. She said that it is her and her husband’s advocacy to promote Filipino designers in Hollywood.
