MANILA – President Benigno Aquino III was the special guest in “Gandang Gabi Vice” for its New Year episode.

The show, which was taped two weeks ago, showed the lighter side of the President as he talked about embattled Vice President Jejomar Binay, and suspended Philippine National Police Chief Director General Alan Purisima, his relationships, and his thinning hair.

“If we have this negative image of the police force, that is not how I know Alan. He has arrested so many and spares no one. Many of his colleagues who have done wrong are now facing trial or are in jail,” said Aquino in defense of Purisima who was recently suspended because of an alleged anomalous contract with a courier company.

Meanwhile, the President also shared that he was recently single following a relationship that ended several months ago.

He revealed as well that he wants to be with a younger woman because he dreams of having kids someday. Aquino added that having kids will help him de-stress.

The President was also ridiculed about his thinning hair, which he learned how to “accept.” He said that it was because of the Cojuangco genes.

The said episode, #PNoyOnGGV, trended on Twitter last Sunday night. While some appreciated the lighter side of the President, others mocked Aquino for deciding to do the interview.
