Typhoon ‘Ruby’ makes landafall in Dolores, Eastern Samar Saturday evening
MANILA — Typhoon “Ruby” has made landfall in Dolores, Eastern Samar at 9:15 p.m. Saturday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.
PAGASA said the landfall was associated with strong winds, storm surge of up to 4.5 meters and heavy-intense rainfall.
In an interview, Romeo Ganal, PAGASA weather observer, said that as of 8 p.
m., “Ruby” was located at 160km East Southeast of Catarman, Northern Samar or at 55km East of Dolores, Eastern Samar (12N, 126E) packed with maximum sustained winds of 175 kph while its gustiness was up to 210 kph. It continues to move west at 16 kph.
Ganal said the weather agency will again issue weather bulletin at 11 p.m. Saturday for update of the typhoon.
