‘KathNiel’ take on roles of tormented lovers in ‘Pangako Sa’Yo’ remake

MANILA – Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla have been cast to play the roles of Yna and Angelico, sweethearts who are tormented by the discovery that they might be half-siblings, in ABS-CBN’s remake of the hit tele-series, “Pangako Sa ‘Yo.”

The roles of the young lovers were originally portrayed by Kristine Hermosa and Jericho Rosales.

Rory Quintos, director of the original show which aired from 2000-2002, returns to the helm of the modern retelling.

he original show has been dubbed the first “teleserye” on Philippine television, and received huge following among local audiences.
