MANILA – A ‘Maalaala Mo Kaya’ (MMK) special feature on the story of a Typhoon Yolanda survivor trends worldwide on Saturday.

The story featured an inmate who voluntarily returned to prison after helping his family during the onslaught of Super Typhoon “Yolanda.

Jomar Martinez, an inmate in Tacloban, left the jail to check on his family when the typhoon ravaged the city of Tacloban, November, last year.

Martinez helped his family rebuild their house and ensured that his family was settled in a safer place before surrendering to the police.
