Senators turned up for ICC probe
MANILA – Senators turned up on Thursday as the senate inquiry into the controversial Iloilo Convention Center (ICC) begins.
The hearing gave more time for Manuel Mejorada to air his claims against Senate President Franklin Drilon.
Drilon was the proponent of the ICC project which was funded under his pork barrel funds.
Mejorda, meanwhile, filed a plunder complaint against Drilon in the Office of the Ombudsman for the senator’s involvement in the allegedly overprice construction of the ICC.
During the senate hearing, Sen. Antonio Trillanes gently confronted Mejorada over his claims.
Sen. Sergio Osmena III commented on this while chuckling saying: “We’re friendly.”
It could be noted that Senators Trillanes and Alan Perer Cayateno and Aquilino Pimentel III were tough-sounding when posing questions to resource persons during the hearing of the allegedly overpriced Makati City car park.
In the blue ribbon subcommittee hearing on the Makati car park, Senators Trillanes, Alan Peter Cayetano and Aquilino Pimentel III sounded tough while posing questions to resource persons.
