MANILA – Retired general Jovito Palparan’s plea to have his bail hearing set was granted by the Regional Trial Court yesterday.

8 while the preliminary conference has been set on Oct.

27.

Palparan has been charged with kidnapping with serious illegal detention after being allegedly involved in the disappearance of Karen Empeño and Sherilyn Cadapan, who are both students of the University of the Philippines.

Palparan’s camp, however, said that there is not enough evidence against him adding that he must be allowed his right to post bail and enjoy temporary liberty while the hearing of the case is ongoing.
