CIDG nabs suspected “condo estafa queen” in Cavite
MANILA — A lady swindler has been arrested by the operatives of the Criminal Investigation Detection Group (CIDG) in Cavite, CIDG head Police Director Benjamin B. Magalong said on Monday.
Magalong identified the suspect as Aida Artigas , 52, a resident of Vito Cruz, Makati City and tagged as “Condo Estafa Queen”.
Magalong said Artigas was arrested inside a fast food restaurant located at Barangay, Talaba, Bacoor City last weekend while in the act of receiving marked money from one of her victims.
The suspect has duped each four victims into buying a 77-square-meter condo unit with an address at No. 16 – B, Tower A, Kingswood Condominium, No. 185 Vito Cruz Extension, Makati Avenue, Makati City making it a double sale.
He added that the price of the said unit were sold from 2 to 3.1 million pesos.
The suspect’s apprehension stemmed from the complaints of her defrauded victims identified as Samuel Noveno and Orpha Novena, who gave less than Php 800,000.00 as down payment, Aniceto Igrubay who was tricked to pay Php 600,000 and one Michael Garcia, who was enticed to give Php 1 million.
The suspect is now detained at Cavite CIDG lock-up cell facing charges for Large Scale Estafa set to be filed before the Bacoor City Prosecutor’s Office.
