Bank of Canada looking for input from Canadians on design of bank notes
OTTAWA—The Bank of Canada is looking for input from Canadians on how the country’s next bank notes should be designed.
The consultation was prompted by a review of the process used for the latest design of the bank’s new polymer bank notes.
That review found Canadians should be able to contribute more on the design process the next time the bills are redesigned.
The Bank of Canada has faced criticism that the new bills generally exclude images of women, whereas the old bills celebrated women’s rights pioneers and others.
Canadians can voice their opinions in an online survey on the Bank of Canada’s website. It plans to publish a summary of the comments received before the end of the year.
