World’s largest plane lands at NAIA
MANILA – The Emirates Airbus A380, the world’s largest passenger plane, was welcomed by President Aquino as it landed at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport on Tuesday night.
Aquino was inside the NAIA Terminal 3 as the plane arrived from Dubai past 10 p.m., showed in footage from Radio and TV Malacañang (RTVM).
The footage also showed how the Airbus was given a water cannon salute while Aquino went to talk with the plane’s officials including a Filipino pilot, Capt. Franklyn Desiderio.
Television reports also indicated that the president welcomed the passengers of the plane and made observations on the operations of the Terminal 3.
The Emirates took the flagship aircraft to the country as part of its celebration of its movement to the international terminal, as mentioned on its official Facebook page.
