MANILA — Two female reporters from top TV networks were caught in a tug of war as to who has the right to interview Deniece Cornejo after she was released on bail.

The reporters were from TV5 and GMA7. Both waited and cornered Cornejo minutes before she left the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group on September 18. She was previously detained at the CIDG in Camp Crame in Quezon City following the assault and serious illegal detention case filed against her by actor Vhong Navarro.

“How do we go about this? I already committed to an interview with her earlier,” said Cornejo to the TV5 reporter. She was referring to the exclusive interview that she promised to the GMA7 reporter.

However, the reporter from TV5 claimed that she already arranged the interview with Cornejo’s parents.

Said the TV5 reporter, “Your parents already committed to me.”

To which Cornejo replied, “I can be interviewed with my mother.”

However the reporter from TV5 insisted, “That is not possible. I want to interview you. Attorney, how do we do this? Her parents and even the grandmother committed to do an exclusive interview with me.”

The GMA7 reported was quick to reply, “Sorry, but she committed to me.”

The reporter from TV5 tried to ambush interview Cornejo before she left leaving the reporter from GMA7 with no choice but to join.
