MANILA, Philippines – Lauren Young, a GMA Artist Center star, has proven to be a versatile actress as she delivers so well the relatively different roles assigned to her.

In spite already receiving numerous praises, this 20-year-old beauty continues to showcase her acting skills.

In 2013, Lauren signed a contract with GMA Network making her a Kapuso star. The first role assigned to her was that of Darlene Carbonel, a detestable yet pitiable kontrabida in the primetime drama series Mundo Mo’y Akin.

In her next role, she switched from a kontrabida to a bida in Dormitoryo, a suspense-thriller-drama where she played the role of Hazel Mendoza, a college freshman in pursuit of answers to her sister’s mysterious death in the dormitory where they’re staying.

Her range as an actress also included acting in sci-fi dramas as she starred in Genesis and Paraiso Ko’y Ikaw.

Lauren later on landed a lead role in Overtime, a black comedy film where she played the role of a hacker’s victim.

“It’s the characters you get to play that you’re given a chance to express in certain ways.

I’m not like all the characters I’ve played. Maybe for some, yes, but I’m not entirely like them. So to be different for a few days, few months, you get to be away from who you really are.

It’s like a break from your real life,” Lauren shared in an interview.

Truly, Lauren proves that she can fit to any character. She’s confident with her acting and looks to it as her passion. For her, it’s not about the fame and money, it’s about the craft.

“I’m chasing after my dream and I feel like I’m slowly getting there. What I do, I work hard,” she adds. “If you stop thinking about the fame and money, and you focus on your craft, you’ll get places. It’s as simple as that. You have to be there for the right reasons and your heart should be in it.”

In GMA Network’s newest drama series Hiram na Alaala, the viewers must surely look out for Lauren as she plays the role of Bethany Sandoval, a rich and strong-willed woman who does everything she could to keep her boyfriend from falling for another woman.
