Honda brings smallest car models in PHL market
MANILA — Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) has brought to the local market its smallest car model, the All-New Honda Brio and Brio Amaze.
HCPI launches the two new Brio models during the 5th Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS) held at the World Trade Center from September 18 to September 21.
“These cars were specifically developed to match the evolving needs of our customers, so that we can help them achieve personal mobility. The Brio is the smallest vehicle in Honda’s line-up, but it has more than enough room for all the demands of a young and active lifestyle,” HCPI President Toshio Kuwahara said.
“As for the Brio Amaze, it is longer than its hatchback version, which means it has a more spacious interior and larger trunk capacity to make room for even bigger life experiences,” Kuwahara added.
He said HCPI will join the small car segment or the E-category (economy), the fastest growing vehicle segment in the local market.
“We are joining the small car segment in a big way by setting a new standard with these two vehicles,” he said.
In a previous interview, the HCPI chief mentioned that Brio cars will be imported from Thailand.
Before bringing in the E-category car in the Philippines, Brio has been made available to markets of India, Indonesia, and Thailand.
Further, both Brio and Brio Amaze will be available with 4-cylinder 1.3-liter i-VTEC engine, that delivers a maximum power output of 100 ps at 6000 rpm, making it the most powerful in its segment.
