MANILA — Gilas Pilipinas player Marc Pingis expressed his deep appreciation for the support he has been getting from mother-in-law Dina Bonnevie, especially during his stint in the FIBA Basketball World Cup.

Bonnevie never left his side, and even travelled with Danica Sotto and her granddaughters to see Pingris play.

“I am so thankful for Mama Dina because she’s always there for my wife and my daughters,” said Pingris during his interview on Thursday at “News to Go.”

He added, “Even though she became somewhat like the kids’ nanny, she did not mind. Ma, I love you and thank you.”

Pingris also shared that he felt at home in Spain because his family came to support him. Prior to the start of the tournament, he met up with his French dad in Antibes, France.

His dad went as well to Seville with him to support his son play.

“He [Pingris’ dad] got a house in Seville for the family. After our practice, I will always go there to have dinner with him before going back to the hote,” Pingris said.
