MANILA – In case you were wondering who spilled the beans to Daniel Matsunaga and how he found out about ex-flame Heart Evangelista’s recent engagement to Senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero, wonder no more.  According to “The Buzz” host Toni Gonzaga it was her sister, Alex Gonzaga, who told Daniel the news.

Toni said her sister approached the Filipino-Japanese commercial model and newly declared winner of Pinoy Big Brother during the reality show’s after-party to fill him in on the turn of events.

“Right after the Big Night, nagkaroon kami ng party Sunday night. Ang unang unang sinabi ni Alex sa kanya, ‘Uy engaged na si Heart.’ Sabi ni Alex, ‘Ate, nasaan si Daniel? Sasabihin ko na talaga sa kanya.’ Paglapit niya ‘Engaged na si Heart!’ Tinanong ko anong sabi. Sabi daw, ‘Hindi siya naniwala eh,’” Toni said.

Matsunaga said that although the news came as a surprise to him, and somewhat embarrassed him, he nonetheless readily believed it.

“Naniwala ako. Pero siyempre nahiya ako. Kasi first news sa outside world, [‘yun agad]. Oh sige, thank you,” he said, laughingly.

Matsunaga added: “Masaya ako para sa kanila kasi me and Heart, we are still friends even after our breakup na matagal na, three years ago. Masaya ako para sa kanya. Nakilala ko si Chiz. I wish them the best and may God bless their relationship sa future.”

Senator Escudero proposed to Evangelista one night before Matsunaga ‘s proclamation as winner of the popular ABS-CBN show.
