MANILA — Daniel Matsunaga recently emerged as the big winner in the ABS-CBN reality show “Pinoy Big Brother: All In” last Sunday. Ironically, this happened the same weekend that his ex-girlfriend Heart Evangelista said “yes” to Sen. Francis “Chiz” Escudero’s marriage proposal.

According to the 25-year-old- model-actor, he is happy for his ex-girlfriend.

Okay lang. Masaya ako para sa kanila (It’s okay, I’m happy for them),” said Matsunaga during his interview at “Aquino and Abunda Tonight” on Monday.

He added, “move on talaga. Matagal na (I’ve really moved on a long time ago),” when asked if he has already recovered from their failed relationship.

Matsunaga and Evangelista became a couple in 2010, but the two broke up early in 2012. Evangelista then announced her relationship with Escudero in October 2012.

When asked about his next plans, Matsunaga said that he plans to move his family to the country.

Para sa akin, puso talagang Pinoy ako. Kasi I lived here for five years. Plano ko talaga to bring my whole family here (For me, I have the heart of a Filipino because I’ve lived here for five years. I plan on bringing my whole family here),” he said.

He added, “Kahit sa Brazil, I tried Big Brother in Brazil. I did audition pero denied. And syempre, dito sa Pilipinas, lahat ng opportunities, you guys are amazing, amazing people. Lahat ng sinabi sa akin ni God na I have a purpose here sa Pilipinas happened. Talagang sobrang proud ako na maging pusong Pinoy kasi syempre gusto ko talaga maging totoong Pilipino.

(I  also tried auditioning for Big Brother in Brazil but I got denied. And of course, here in the Philippines, I have a lot of opportunities. You guys are amazing, amazing people. Everything God told me that I have a purpose here in the Philippines actually happened.
