MANILA — Queen of all Philippine media and presidential sister Kris Aquino answered rumored flame Derek Ramsay’s ALS ice bucket challenge on Sunday, August 24 — live on her showbiz talk show ‘The Buzz.’

Before co-host Toni Gonzaga and son Bimby dumped ice water on her, Toni and Kris decided to catch up on Aquino’s love life. During their lively discussion, Kris referred to Mayor Herbert Bautista, her former boyfriend, as her ‘spokesperson.’

“Okay, I have a spokesperson, si Mayor Bautista,” Kris said.

Parang gustung-gusto niyang mag-opinyon para sa akin… Ganito kasimple yun, eh — If you still talk about it or if you still talk about the person, ang ibig sabihin nun, you still care about the person, ‘di ba? Pero kung hindi mo na siya pag-uusapan, hahayaan mo na lang. Ibig sabihin nun, naka-move on ka na.”

(It seems like he really likes to give his opinion about me… It’s this simple — if you still talk about it or if you still talk about the person, that means you still care about the person, right? But if you’ve stopped talking about that person, just let them be. That means, you’ve moved on.)

To this Toni replied, “Hindi pa siya nakaka-move on? (He hasn’t moved on?) He still cares about you?”

“I think so!” Kris laughed.

“But I’m proud to say, I’ve moved on… Kasi, kung ano ang mahalaga sa akin, yun ang pag-uusapan ko ngayon. And, ang mahalaga sa akin is si Derek Ramsay.”

(But I’m proud to say, I’ve moved on… Because I only talk about what’s important to me. And what’s important to me is Derek Ramsay.)

After the live audience regained their composure over Kris’ statement, she added, “He had an Ice Bucket Challenge yesterday at 12 noon.”

Before the challenge, Kris showed US $100 to the camera, which she will donate to the ALS Association.

Kaya nila ito ginagawa, hindi para magbasa lamang. Ginagawa nila ito to raise awareness about what’s commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s disease… So, I’m doing my share.”

(People are not just doing this to get wet. They’re doing this to raise awareness about what’s commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s disease… So, I’m doing my share.)

“I’m taking on your challenge, Derek, dahil mahalaga ka sa akin (because you’re important to me),” Kris said before nominating three people to do the ice bucket challenge as well.

She nominated ABS-CBN anchor Anthony ‘Ka Tunying’ Taberna, Darla Sauler, and comedian Vice Ganda.

After giving her nominees, Kris added, “Nanahimik na ako… Nag-move on na ako… Sana ang ibang tao, kayanin din gawin yun dahil marami namang responsibilidad sa trabaho niya. Huwag nang makialam sa buhay ko.

(I’ve stayed quiet… I’ve moved on… I hope others can also do the same because they have a lot of responsibilities at work. Stop meddling with my life.)

And with that, Toni and Bimby dumped two buckets of ice water on her.
