Armed woman out to ‘scare’ PNoy
MANILA — An armed woman recently went to Malacanang to force President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III to step down from his office.
Flora Pineda, a 36-year-old domestic helper, said that she could no longer bear to witness the suffering of many poor Filipinos.
Pineda did not get past the presidential guards. Her pistol was seen and she was taken immediately to the guardhouse for interrogation.
According to her, it was not her intention to bring harm to anyone. Rather, she carried a gun to “scare” President Aquino.
According to the PSG, she was carrying a “caliber 45.” Later investigations showed that the weapon – an M1911 – was fully loaded.
Pineda told the reporters that she got it from her brother who was a Marine.
The PSG then took her to Manila Police District (MDP) headquarters. There, Pineda expressed her disappointment in the current poverty situation in the Philippines.
When asked if she was mentally unstable, Pineda replied, “Yes, but that’s no reason for me not to tell the government what the poor are going through. I am poor, too, and I want all, not only the President, to know that I want change.”
The police brought her to Ospital ng Maynila Medical Center to check if Pineda really is mentally ill.
