Election body hearing reset

Published

on

The Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver recently announced that the Resident Election Registration Board (RERB) of the Consulate will reset the hearing for the approval or disapproval of 236 applications received for the period of June 1 to 30, 2014, for registration or certification as Overseas Voters from July 21 to August 18, pursuant to Section 4, paragraph b of COMELEC Resolution No. 9862 dated April 1, 2014.
By law, the RERB is the body tasked to process, review and approve the applications for registration of overseas voters. The creation of RERBs in each foreign service post is one of the improvements introduced by Republic Act 10590, the new law which amended Republic Act 9189, the Overseas Absentee Voting Law.
