MANILA – Jessica “Gigi” Reyes was returned to Camp Bagong Diwa in Bicutan, Taguig City on Monday night , after her stint in the intensive care unit of the Philippine Heart Center.

The former chief of staff of Senator Juan Ponce Enrile and now co-accused in the pork barrel scam was confined in the ICU, where she received medical treatment for alleged ailing health. She was initially detained at Camp Bagong Diwa, but was rushed to the hospital shortly after her detainment.

She will remain in medical isolation at Camp Bagong Diwa, until she is clear of possible radioactive residue, stemming from radiation she received during her confinement.

Spokesperson of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), Aries Villaester, said that Reyes will be transferred to her isolated cell – which measures only 1.5 by 3 meters – by next week.

He added that authorities will treat Reyes fairly in matters regarding her rights while in prison, such as regulations of visiting schedules.
