DFA urges Pinoy in Kenya to restrict movement
MANILA — Following the deteriorating security situation, the Department of Foreign Affairs advised Filipinos in Kenya to minimize and restrict their movement by avoiding unnecessary travel.
After the alert level was earlier raised to alert level 2 or the restriction phase, Filipinos were also told to avoid going on crowded places.
Under this alert level, only those overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) with existing employment contracts were allowed to be deployed.
An estimated 440 Filipinos in Kenya, were encouraged to contact for instruction, the Philippine embassy in Nairobi, where most Filipinos are based.
Meanwhile, threats to security brought by the Israel-Hamas conflicts made the DFA decide to raise a similar alert level in Gaza Strip.
