MANILA, Philippines — Senator Juan Ponce Enrile’s former secretary, Jessica “Gigi” Reyes was rushed to the Taguig-Pateros District Hospital because of panic attacks.

Reyes was earlier transferred to Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig, following the Sandiganbayan’s refusal to grant her request to be detained at the Custodial Center of the Philippine National Police (PNP).

Unlike other plunder accused, including Senators Jinggoy Estrada and Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr.

, Reyes was not allowed to be detained at the custodial center.

The Sandiganbayan has reiterated its claim that the Custodial Center is not a jail facility.

During the hearing, the justices even lectured about the difference between a custodial center and a jail facility.

Reyes has not been discharged from the hospital as of this writing.

Her lawyers told the media that the panic attack has caused Reyes to suffer from seizures or shortness of breath.
